What do the names of Tequila mean?

Blanco

Tequila Blancos, also known as “Silvers” and are un-aged tequilas that are generally crisp and dry in taste. Blancos are not necessarily served as a shot, but can be served on the rocks or mixed into a cocktail.

Reposado

Reposados are Blancos that have been aged in oak barrels at least two months and up to one year. This aging process gives it color and a mellow, smoother and more flavorful taste.

Añejos

Añejo means “Aged.” This type of tequila spends at least one year in oak barrels. Subsequently the color becomes darker and a woody flavor develops from the oak barrels. Añejos can become as dark and complex as Cognac or a fine whiskey. Añejos are truly an enthusiasts drink.
